CONCRETE PRIMER

Concrete Primer is specifically designed to absorb into the concrete surfaces, filling in small imperfections and creating a smooth base for painting. It improves adhesion and paint durability. Most concrete primers dry in a few hours, so you can move on to your flooring or coating project quickly. Ideal for outdoor sports surfaces, concrete primer gives synthetic acrylic coatings a professional, long-lasting finish.

BOND BETWEEN BASE & SURFACE COATING

Resolve the issue of poor adhesion and finishes that do not wear long. Our Concrete Primer is also of high quality, going deep into surface, sealing the pores and preparing the surface with acrylic or cushion layers. This causes the court to be more lasting and effective.

HOW TO USE CONCRETE PRIMER

Concrete Primer is the first step in preparing sports court surfaces before applying acrylic coatings or cushion layers. It absorbs deep into the surface, seals pores, and ensures better adhesion. The primer smooths out micro imperfections and locks in surface stability, creating a solid base for long-lasting sports court performance.
1

Surface Inspection & Preparation

Make sure the concrete is clean, dry and without dust and without oil and grease, laitance or loose pieces. Fix any cracks, damage, and weak spots before you do. If you do the preparation on the base properly, the primer will set well in and the acrylic will stick very well.
2

Material Mixing

Mix Concrete Primers with clean water in recommended ratio. Stir well to make the solution smooth, uniform and lump free. Proper mixing makes for proper penetration into the concrete surface and increases the strength of the bond.

3

Application

Propel the primer using a roller or brush to the entire surface. Make sure that it has a good cover, particularly where it is rough or porous, as otherwise the primer is not absorbed into the material and does not build up a good bonding layer between the base and the next layers.

4

Curing Time

Allow the applied primer to dry for approximately 2 - 4 hours, depending on weather conditions. Ensure the surface is completely dry and properly cured before applying cushion layers, acrylic resurfacer, or topcoat for optimal performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a primer required before applying acrylic coatings?

A primer enhances surface bonding, reduces porosity, and ensures uniform absorption, preventing peeling or coating failure.

Can Concrete Primer be used on new concrete surfaces?

Yes, it is ideal for new concrete courts once the surface is properly cured and cleaned.

Is it suitable for old or existing concrete courts?

Yes, it helps recondition aged concrete by improving adhesion before resurfacing.

How does it improve coating performance?

By strengthening the bond between substrate and acrylic layers, it enhances durability and long-term performance.

How many coats of primer are required?

Typically, one uniform coat is sufficient, depending on the surface condition and porosity.

Can it be used for indoor and outdoor courts?

Yes, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor concrete sports flooring applications.
